Your future teamWe're looking for an experienced Head of Engineering to grow the Jira Platform Essentials (JPE) organisation and you will report into the Head of Engineering for Jira Cloud Platform (JPlat). You'll be responsible for the teams owning the essential components of Jira including the systems and experiences for Jira Issues, creating and viewing search results for issues, navigation, configuration of Jira issues, projects and permissions.
What you'll do
- You will use your experience to help JPE navigate several key transformations as we decompose from monolith to micro-services and move from owningkey parts of the end user experience to providing configurable components that Jira product teams can build with to improve the experience for existing Jira customers and bring it to new ones. This will involve growing and coaching the people and teams that report to you, partnering with architects, product, design and other roles to set strategy and ensure we are investing in solving the right problems. You will work through your directs and teams to driveday to day delivery and ensuring a high bar of operational excellence as they do so.
Your background
- Experience working with key stakeholders to define and drive the execution of multi-year product roadmaps and technical strategies with a focus on incremental impact.
- Experience managing managers, and a track record ofsuccessfully scaling organisations of 80 - 150 engineers
- Have demonstrated driving transformative change in teams and how they work.
- Experience building and nurturing cultures of operational excellence, shipping high quality platform capabilities to internal teams and enterprise customers
- Extensive engineering management experience, following Agile development processes with a history of shipping full-stack platform services
