Job Profile SummaryResponsible for writing a wide range of deliverables from invitations and letters to SEO-optimized web copy, ad copy, marketing collateral such as data sheets and battlecards to social media copy, video scripts, blogs, whitepapers, reports, customer case studies and other deliverables as part of the company’s in-house creative agency in collaboration with project managers, designers and video creators. Frequently interviews customers, stakeholders and subject matter experts to create written deliverables.
Key Responsibilities
- Contributes to the creation of multiple forms of content including long-form tools and content artifacts such as whitepapers and eBooks, interactive tools, website pages, and promotion emails and landing pages.
- Adheres to Rackspace Technology branding and style guidelines and AP Style to ensure a consistent tone, style, and language across the marketing organization
- Optimizes content for search engines and 3rd party distributors.
- Provides point of view on content best practices. Accurately estimates assignment scope and effort.
- Interviews internal and external SMEs to create compelling written content that accurately follows company goals and interview content
- Works on a high volume of moderately complex projects.
- Consistently meets weekly assignment deadlines.
- Balances multiple projects at once at different stages in the process.
Knowledge
- Experience with cloud technology concepts with a solid understanding of public and private cloud and previous experience related to AWS, Google, Microsoft or VMware preferred.
- Ability to interpret complex, technical language and make it understandable for early-stage buyers.
- Ability to tailor other content for a more sophisticated persona and establish credibility through expertise.
- Self- starter, capable of taking a topic, aligning with appropriate resources, and creating a piece of content that aligns with Rackspace Technology core offerings.
- Creative approach to existing content types and translation of messaging.
- Ability to research a topic to gain understanding vs. needing guidance.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be hard-working, well organized, and resilient to changing timelines, requests, and deliverables.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Word with familiarity with PowerPoint and Excel.
- Strong relationship building and networking skills.
Education / Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English, PR or related experience is required.
- 3-7 years marketing writing experience and or 5+ years technical writing experience ideally with published content in online or traditional media.
- Relevant tech and/or cloud computing industry experience preferred

The anticipated starting pay range of Colorado applicants for this role is $69,400 - $89,900. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, licenses and certifications, and specific work location.
