Content Strategist

The Content Strategist leads content projects and programs, interfacing with multiple business stakeholders in order to develop effective content related user experiences. Acts as a trusted advisor and Subject Matter Expert regarding content. The Content Strategist responsibilities range from the highly tactical (sometimes making minor content corrections or updates) to strategic (leading multiple and large content production projects), to execution (interviewing and writing content). Primary ownership of our corporate blog.. 

Responsibilities

    • Plans and maintain editorial calendar [for our corporate blog]
    • Interviews SMEs, works on outline for another writer, or authors the content
    • Collaborates with Digital Experience teams and other teams to create and maintain content for easy navigation and global content consistency.
    • Works with brand marketing to maintain overall theme of product and application positioning relative to corporate mission and message.
    • Utilizes an understanding of target markets to determine and set the tone of the content, ensuring copywriting and content standards are maintained, and developing a consistent "voice" throughout the website.
    • Lead and partners closely with Designers, Developers, SEO teams, and other digital team members to deliver a Fanatical online experience.
    • Oversees complex content migrations and associated documentation. Creates recommendations for web content based on business and user needs.
    • Assesses business goals, user needs, content requirements, and content sources. Conducts discovery including interviews, content audits, and analyses.
    • Provides the background research and analysis that stakeholders need to make smart decisions about content and drives the conversations regarding content development.
    • Develops and evaluates content strategy and contributes to content management planning. Develops web content best practices to guide projects and operational updates.
    • Guides internal clients in developing new content and evaluating and optimizing legacy content.
    • Leads projects to evaluate editorial guidelines and content processes.
    • Edits and proofs content as needed. Provides guidance and mentoring to team members.

    • Advanced ability to assess, catalogue, and organize web site content. Strong understanding of project management principals.

    • Ability to successfully work and promote inclusiveness in small groups.
    • Detail oriented with a commitment to fanatical customer service.

Skills/Education/Experience

    • Proven history of self- direction, creativity, and ability to meet deadlines
    • Proficient in Microsoft Suite of programs
    • High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications or a related field
    • 7+ years of relevant marketing and/or communications experience, including a minimum 4 years of experience writing and editing for Web environments required

    • This position can be worked remotely anywhere within the United States of America
