As part of this journey we’re moving all our cloud customers to a new billing system that has been developed in-house. This journey is key to the success of Atlassian going forward and will involve working with stakeholders in all areas of the company. You’ll be working with both the current and future billing systems and supporting systems that form the backbone of the way that our customers interact with the administration of the Atlassian products that they use. You're expected to be a pro-active and self-motivated engineer that likes to drive initiatives that span across teams and organisational  boundaries. You write code that's easy to read and maintain. You see technology as a tool to solve problems and not as a means to it itself. You like to work collaboratively and believe in a team first culture.You’re also expected to work with developers and stakeholders in multiple timezones, predominantly in India and Australia, but also at times in Europe and the US. You will work with a group of talented engineers at varying job levels, from new college grads to seasoned senior engineers and architects. If you want to grow as an engineer that can manage the entire life cycle of mission critical software, this is an opportunity you can’t miss.About the Team : Tenant Platform: We are forming a brand new team in India to tackle the huge domain of business and infrastructure automation at Atlassian. We are looking for experienced and talented engineers who are passionate about automation & orchestration of cloud infrastructure of SaaS systems. The team’s first major priority will be to develop AWS region deployment automation to allow our Atlassian software to deploy rapidly in new regions. With the bold aim of delivering same-day deployment of new regions as the business expands, optimising and automating a business & infrastructure process that currently take months.Our products are currently available in 6 regions across EU, US and APAC, with AWS expanding it’s global coverage of AWS local zones into ~50 regions, Atlassian would like to take advantage of this growth, expanding into these regions to continue the explosive growth of our user-bases + deliver key regional capabilities to customers across the world like data residency, local compliance, & network performance for regional users.

On your first day, we'll expect you to have/be:

• 5+ years experience in cloud offerings AWS, Google Cloud, Azure
• Proficiency in any modern object-oriented programming language (e.g., Python, Java, Kotlin etc.)
• Experience with an infrastructure as code platform. Any of (Cloud Formation, Terraform, Azure Resource Manager)
• Real passion for collaboration and strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Familiarity with cloud architecture patterns and an engineering discipline to produce software with quality
• Experience using container systems like Docker and/or Platform as a Service.
• Strong organisational and interpersonal skills, with experience developing and instilling a culture of operational maturity.

If you've got some of these skills, even better

• Deep experience & knowledge AWS infrastructure & account administration
• Experience with workflow orchestration tooling eg AWS Step Functions or similar
• Deep understanding of monitoring & observability platforms and practice
• Background in Site Reliability or Infrastructure engineering.
