The teams are spread across multiple geo-locations across Australia and India and are collectively responsible for Confluence Data Center.You will lead and help to grow a department of highly motivated managers and engineers that are open, collaborative and fun to work with. You will manage different aspects of Confluence, such as content creation, simplifying the creation workflow to make it more accessible, building a more secure and powerful collaborative editing and publishing experience, and influencing the direction of Confluence's Data Center strategy.Your greatest responsibility will be looking after the managers and architects reporting to you – mentoring and supporting them in their professional development, unlocking their potential, and empowering them to grow and support their teams.
On your first day, we'll expect you to have:
- 15+ of engineering management experience, following Agile development processes with a history of shipping high-quality software on time
- 3+ years of experience managing managers and architects, and a track record of successfully scaling organisations beyond 40-60 engineers
- Experience designing, building, and operating large systems with scalability, availability, testing and performance requirements
- Real passion for learning and mentoring your team to evolve the engineering craft within your team
- Ability to communicate directly and clearly, with a strong emphasis on careful listening and empathy, and a bias toward action.
- Ability to drive technical excellence, pushing innovation and quality
- Ability to define and effectively communicate a long-term technical vision, and inspire the organisation around a shared vision for success.
