Interviews and onboarding are conducted virtually, a part of being a distributed-first company.We have an office in Bengaluru but as we continue to expand our footprint in India, we can hire eligible candidates remotely anywhere in India.Your future teamOur Product Integrations (PI) team is comprised of people with backgrounds in Analytics, Design, Engineering and Product Management. We focus on building new and improving existing integrations between our Atlassian product suite and non-Atlassian products (such as Slack and Microsoft Teams), empowering teams to collaborate in the tools they use each day.We're hiring a Principal Data Scientist, reporting to Manager, Data Science, Product Growth and Product Integrations. You are an analytics professional with a background in mathematics or statistics (or similar quantitative field) and experience applying advanced analytics techniques to solve challenging business problems and inform better business decision-making.Here, you'll be a founding member of the cross-craft Product Integrations leadership team, applying analytics to understand which customers and teams find value from our Product Integrations tools and identify new opportunities to unlock new growth.Longer term, we see this role evolving to take on some people management responsibilities and would be well suited to those with people management career aspirations.What you'll do•          Represent the analytics craft on the PI leadership team, shaping overall strategy and promoting a culture of data-driven decision-making and measurement•          Work with Product, Design and Engineering leaders in the Product Integrations team to identify high impact opportunities for analytics, shaping the long-term analytics roadmap•          Define and build northstar success and guardrail metrics for the PI team, ensuring impact of team is fairly and accurately measured•          Share your high-quality recommendations with multiple levels of leadership to guide impactful decisions•          Build self-serve reporting dashboards to track usage of our Product Integrations and measure uplift of new features shipped•          Prototype new ETL pipelines to uncover new insights and remove reporting blind-spots•          Lay the ground work and set the direction for the future of analytics within PI as we expand the team over timeYour background•          6+ years of experience applying your analytics skills to identify and deliver projects which have had demonstrated impact on strategic and product roadmap decisions•          Experience in technical solution design given business constraints, understanding the pros and cons of several methods when choosing the appropriate technique•          Experience communicating complex concepts and findings to a broad audience, using story-telling narratives as appropriate•          Project management and prioritisation experience; preferably with Data Engineering, Product Management, and Software Engineering teams•          A very high bar for output quality, while balancing "having something now" vs. "perfection in the future"•          An Agile development mindset, appreciating the benefit of constant iteration and improvement•          Experience assessing raw data and building appropriate ETL pipelines using any tools or scripting languages•          Expertise in SQL and proficiency in another data science programming language (e.g Python, R)•          Proficiency in at least one visualisation tool (e.g. Tableau, Dash)•          Expertise in foundational statistics (data distributions, inferential statistics, probability etc.) and modelling (regression, classification, clustering etc.)•          Experience educating partner teams on analytics best practices, ways of working and•          A degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g. statistics, mathematics, physics, engineering, computer science, econometrics)The PI analytics team sits within Product Data Science, an exciting and high growth space at Atlassian.
