Job Summary: Leads the development and implementation of Rackspace physical security strategies keyed to likely risks and in collaboration with internal and external institutional stakeholders. Develops strategies to enhance the global physical security of Rackspace’s mission and objectives. Develops and maintains Rackspace Global Physical security architectures, strategies and standards. Keeps Rackspace interest and strategic goals as the target while engaging in continuous assessment and improvement processes associated with all global physical directives and other standards as necessary.
Work Location: Onsite in San Antonio, TX
Key Responsibilities:
- Plans, organizes, and manages resources for effective and efficient use of technologies related to the protection of the physical Corporate Security systems and data.
- Develops and leads implementation of physical system security controls and practices.
- Develops and delivers communications corporate- wide for the successful deployment of physical security controls.
- Keeps Rackspace interest and strategic goals as the target while engaging in continuous assessment and improvement processes associated with all global physical directives and other standards as necessary.
- Oversee the continuous monitoring and protection of Rackspace Physical Security resources.
- Demonstrated ability leading others to achieve goals.
- Evaluates suspected security breaches and recommends and implements corrective actions.
- Serve as a focal point for all Physical security incident response planning/execution.
- Develops and ensures all levels of Rackspace workforce complete Security Awareness training.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years physical security experience in roles of progressive responsibility, preferably roles in a supervisory capacity.
- Experience working with geographically disbursed teams.
- Demonstrated ability to be a progressive leader, influence stakeholders and balance multiple project requests.
- Excellent knowledge and skills in interfacing/ collaborating with multiple groups and executives to deliver ongoing physical security solutions.
- Ability to influence top Corporate Security decision makers with presentations of current/future physical security information and gaining “buy in” for projects and initiatives.
- Ability to communicate security information and ideas so others will understand.
- Ability to make appropriate decisions considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions. Ability to apply varying leadership skills and traits that create solutions and results to unexpected situations.
- Ability to successfully work and promote inclusiveness in small groups.
- Ability to coach and motivate less experienced team members to achieve their goals..
