Manager, Systems Engineering (R-IND031 )

Rackspace is looking for a Systems Engineering Manager to help round out our leadership group and guide our company and Rackers to success. We manage, maintain, and architect the infrastructure for our global enterprise systems that supports our customers. We are responsible for various solutions including OS patching, anti-virus, monitoring, DNS, and active directory services. We have a focus on changing the future of Rackspace and ensuring that our internal and external customers have reliable, compliant infrastructure. We are making a huge difference and helping to improve the entire company. This is an opportunity to lead a dedicated group of Rackers that are doing their best to help our company transform the industry.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:  Responsible for planning, organizing, and managing the overall day to day activities of high-level System Engineers focused on enterprise solutions.Plan and track your business performance, and prioritize operational expenses and licensing costs to ensure financial efficiency.Research and identify system areas that need to improve customer experience in a proactive manner; this includes immediate solutions, and long-term strategic paths, that can be deployed off-the-shelf or create new solutions via our Development Team.Work closely with other groups throughout the company, including being a technical resource for internal groups and communicating frequently with engineering, support and development teams to help them improve the operational effectiveness of the systems you manage.Focus time on hiring, coaching, and developing a global team to accomplish team objectives.Analyze operational processes and escalation procedures to identify opportunities for service delivery improvements.Assist in planning the strategic vision of the organization for the next 5 years.QualificationsAdaptable leadership and project management skills Proven ability to work independently with other department personnel in a very dynamic timeline sensitive work environment. Identifies risks and dependencies for operational execution. ENJOY leading, coaching, mentoring, motivating, and growing your team.Demonstration of technical leadership at a Business Unit/Companywide level. Demonstrate attention to detail and the ability to master broad system interdependencies and effectively communicate how a change affects the system as a whole.Minimum of 2 years of project management related activities such as leading medium to large scale projects with varying complexities.Education:Bachelor's Degree in business or technology-related field.            At the Manager's discretion, 4 years of additional related experience may substitute for the degree requirement; if substitution allowed, regional equivalent to High School Diploma is required        CertificationsITIL Certification preferred      Project Management Certification preferred        About Rackspace TechnologyWe are the multicloud solutions experts.
