What We’re Looking For…

An exciting opportunity has arisen within our growing business for a Information Security & Cyber Risk Officer to join the 2nd line of defence Davy Risk function.

This is a highly important and rewarding role for the right candidate in providing independent and effective oversight and support of the Firm’s information security and cyber risk activities. It will require the individual to utilise his/her experience and subject matter expertise across the spectrum of IT and cyber risk security. You will work closely with partners across the Firm and the wider Group.

An additional important part of the role will be to also assume the 2nd line risk role for data risk and/or model risk or operational resilience oversight and support.

Responsibilities:

• Provide effective and independent review and challenge of the 1st line information security and cyber risk management activities as well as data and model risk governance [and operational resilience and business continuity activities].
• Develop, maintain and ensure effective implementation of relevant Risk Policies that conforms with regulatory requirements and expectations.
• Acting as an expert advisor liaising, advising and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, on the security, data and model risks [or operational resilience & business continuity issues affecting the delivery and operation of safe and secure processes, systems and services.
• Ensure timely and effective reporting of the Firm’s risk profile and control environment including Board reporting.
• Responsible and accountable for building and fostering relationships with our regulators and Bank of Ireland Group Risk function.
• Comply with relevant risk and compliance frameworks.

Requirements

Requirements

• Expert understanding of risk management and best practice standards relating to IT and cyber security and data risk and model governance [or operational resilience and business continuity].
• An ambitious drive to help safeguard our infrastructure and act a as recognised cyber risk expert.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate and detail the rationale or recommendations and decisions.
• Relevant 3rd level Degree or Masters.
• A professional security management certification is desirable, such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) or other similar credentials.
• Previous 2nd line of defence experience is desirable.
• Ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Strong organisational and process adherence skills;
• Ability to work within a team and collaboratively with colleagues and various partners, flexible with a positive attitude to change;
• Be proficient in relation to relevant regulations, relevant to your risk specialism;
• Strong IT skills including Microsoft products e.g. Word, Excel
