Some of the biggest companies in the world are Data Center customers and they operate our software at a ludicrous scale and complexity. Jira Software, Confluence, Bitbucket, Crowd, Jira Service Management and Bamboo are all essential platforms for our customers and the demands of our Enterprise customers ratchet up every year. We are equal to that challenge and solve a unique set of challenges in this space.The Migrations team supports our incredible Data Center customer base when they are ready to move some or all of their footprint to our Cloud product offering. The scale and complexity of this migration is large. But the journey that customers take is a critical one. Our responsibility is to ensure quality, scale reliability and customisation during that journey. Most of our migration capabilities are deployed into the Cloud.Our key focuses as an organisation are: Performance, Scale and Application Security and Customer Value.The most important thing about this role is adapting the teams and structure as we grow our Indian footprint whilst ensuring that our customers continue to get the exceptional service that Atlassian products are renowned for.The special opportunity here is to straddle both the extremely complex and high-scale environment of on premises software with building teams that are deploying the latest capabilities to the Cloud. This is a transformational role reporting into the Head Of Engineering for Journey To Cloud.

What you will do:

• You will lead a team comprising over 100 engineers in India.
• You will have partners in other global locations.
• You will set a strategy alongside your product and design partners.
• You will grow great leaders, determine technological direction, structure the engineering organisation for success and navigate high-level dependencies with other Atlassian teams.

Your background:

• Experience (5+ years) leading on-premises engineering teams, with a clear understanding of the complexity of shipping on-premises.
• Extensive engineering management experience, following Agile development processes with a history shipping both consumer products and cloud services.
• Experience managing managers, and a track record of scaling organizations up to 100 engineers
• Experience building and nurturing cultures of delivery excellence, shipping high-quality products to enterprise customers.
• You will need an operational mindset. Improving process, efficiency and quality are the core tenets of success in this role. Faster and higher-quality migrations will deliver success.
• You will demonstrate defining and communicating a long-term technical vision, and inspiring your team around a shared vision for success.
• You will have strong empathy and a bias for action.
• You will have experience working with and leading teams across geographies.
