About the RoleAs our Engineering Manager for Gojek Groceries, you'll play an integral part in designing solutions for GoMart - Gojek's online groceries platform. You’ll spend your time writing elegant, bulletproof code, enhancing our engineering strategy, mentoring a talented troop of engineers, driving critical projects, and designing microservices to further evolve GoMart's system. With this team, you'll be presented with ample opportunities to tackle challenging problems and build systems from scratch. Your efforts will directly improve the productivity of our engineers and revolutionize grocery shopping in Indonesia and beyond.
What Will You Do
- Be responsible for the overall delivery and the solution architecture of the vertical that you will be working on
- Design, prototype, and consult in the process of building highly-scalable, reliable, and fault-tolerant systems
- Mentor the engineering team within GoMart with respect to engineering practices and architectures
- Empower the team to deliver excellent quality work and keep the craft bar set high
- Continuously improve code quality, product execution, and customer delight
- Continuously refactor applications and architectures to maintain high-quality levels
- Represent the GoMart team in architecture review groups and contribute to overall engineering improvements across Gojek
What Will You Need
- At least 9 years of hands-on experience in building scalable engineering solutions
- Hands-on experience with operating systems, memory management, performance/resource optimizations, database interactions, network programming, concurrency, multi-threading, fault tolerance, and the monitoring, security, and operability of the system
- Proficiency in OOP, Linux/Unix, and design patterns; experience with functional programming is a plus
- Hands on experience with Elasticsearch, Postgresql, and Golang
- Well-versed with agile SDLC, best practices of writing tests and CI/CD
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills focused on improving collaboration, understanding, and information exchange across all stakeholders
- Good understanding of distributed system fundamentals and ability to troubleshoot issues in a larger distributed infrastructure
About the Team Our Gojek Groceries team is a family of 60 talented humans spread out across India and Indonesia. We’re Gojek’s newest product group that houses two products: GoMart, where we deliver on-demand fresh and packaged daily staples to our users by partnering with the best merchants in each city (B2C online grocery). We’re made up of software engineers, product managers, designers and data scientists who work to connect consumers with their favorite food merchants and stores, looking over these processes end-to-end (from demand to supply). Service Reliability is a part of the GoMart Product group that oversees GoMart's merchant partners, from their onboarding, solving their daily issues, and ensuring they have an exceptional experience using our platform. The goal of our team is simple: we want to make grocery shopping as easy as possible (you need only lift a finger!). Our team has our sights set on growing our Groceries platform into the largest and most preferred groceries service in Indonesia and beyond.
