Cyber Security Engineer

Within Citi, the Global Infrastructure Defense Security Engineering Team is focusing on designing, developing, testing and architecting Citi’s next generation cyber security solutions across the globe.

In this role you will be responsible to research, develop and certify security strategies, products, architectures and best practices. You will also be responsible to define and influence key security strategy initiatives and deliver security solutions that will adhere to all enterprise security requirements with a potential to influence industry wide roadmaps.

As a Cyber Security Engineer you will

• Define Enterprise Network Security Strategies and directions, key products and solutions 
• Be responsible for Firewall and Intrusion Prevention Technologies on a global architectural basis
• Research and develop industry leading security architectures together with various other R&D teams
• Do hands-on lab testing of emerging network security technologies
• Perform benchmark testing of various security products to determine product capabilities and limitations – including end-to-end complex security architectures
• Establish and maintain relationship with key industry partners and vendors in the next generation security field
• Work in a complex and dynamic environment as part of a large global organization.
• Work on results focused delivery on global security strategy that aligns with the security doctrine of the firm
• Build and maintain of key vendor relationships, ensure close co-operation with key suppliers and security companies
• Write and publish designs, test results and best practice guides for the global audience
• Act as an owner for key end-to-end security initiatives and standards
• Proactively participate in the development of large scale enterprise security strategies, advise on emerging technologies
• Be in close collaboration with security vendors to ensure product features meet Citi’s requirements.

Ideal background

• 3-5 years of experience with multiple security disciplines and strong understanding of layered defense concepts
• Deep understanding of TCP/IP technologies and knowledge of network routing protocols
• Experience defining enterprise security strategy and ecosystem across diverse products
• Proven influencing and relationship management skills
• Proven analytical skills
• University / College degree in any STEM area or equivalent industry/technology knowledge
