SUMMARYXOR Security is seeking a talented Systems Software Developer to join our team! On this project, you will support Rapid Development and Innovation with technical and system engineering Advisory & Assistance Services (A&AS). These services include cyber capability discovery, development, testing, advanced analytics, lifecycle support, data science needed to meet dynamic cyber mission requirements for our government customer.

In this role, you will get to conceive, propose, and design software and hardware solutions for integration into cyber systems for the purpose of improving performance, functionality, reliability, portability and user operability. This role researches, designs, develops, and tests operating systems-level software, compilers, and network distribution software for interoperability, functionality, and performance. Additionally, this position sets operational specifications, formulates and analyzes software requirements. Tasking may include design of embedded systems software.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Evaluate statistical models and other ML/AI products to determine the validity of analyses, implement evaluated models into production by collaborating with software developers, periodically re-evaluate and refine machine learning models being used in production.
• Perform/utilize statistics, machine learning and analytic approaches to answer key intelligence questions, producing results and re-usable products that provide real value to USCYBERCOM.
• Apply machine learning techniques to identify and transform data features, find hidden patterns and trends, build and optimize classifiers, create automated anomaly detection systems, and automate steps of a process.
• Curate and collect the data from a variety of traditional and non-traditional sources: extract data from sources, transform and integrate data in line with existing data, and load data into data stores for access by others.
• Collaborate with other Data Scientists to develop processes and tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy.
• Effectively communicate ideas, design, and results to key decision makers, and other stakeholders.
• Perform documentation of all processes, models and activities by developing, documents, and implement a configuration management plan for data sets.
• Research latest data science tradecraft and technology.

QUALIFICATIONSRequired Certifications

• Active CCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+, or SSCP (DoD 8570/8140 IAT level II certification)

Education, Background, and Years of Experience

• Meets one of the following minimum requirements with 1) a degree from an accredited college or university in Software Development or related discipline and 2) years of experience in data science and analysis or related fields:
• Minimum of 3 years with a Bachelor's degree.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience with an Associate's Degree or HS Diploma.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONSRequired Skills

• Experience in software development processes.

Preferred Skills

• Demonstrated proficiency with R, Python, pandas, numpy, and noSQL
• Experience with data normalization and with the Big Data Platform (BDP)
• Strong Linux (Ubuntu, CentOS, RHEL)/Windows/Virtual environments
• Problem resolution using engineering skills
• Jupyter Notebooks
• USCYBERCOM Experience

WORKING CONDITIONSEnvironmental Conditions

• Customer/Government site with 0%-10% travel possible. Possible off-hours work to support releases and outages. General office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require standing and walking for up to 10% of the time. The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are not hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available.

Strength Demands

• Sedentary – 10 lbs. Maximum lifting, occasional lift/carry of small articles. Some occasional walking or standing may be required.   Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
