Today, top OKR of the company is "Shift adoption to the cloud for Atlassian's entire customer base". As part of MPT, you will contribute to the journey for customer migration from server to the cloud. You will help Atlassian customers be more successful on their migrations by ensuring they can accomplish their migrations in an intuitive & seamless way through the features and improvements our team ships. You'll work as part of a team of Engineers, Product Managers and Designers delivering incredible, creative improvements for our users. You'll collaborate with other developers to write the best code for the project and deliver amazing results that our users love.We'd love you to bring new ideas to our engineering culture, and besides our awesome group of collaborating teams in Migrations Product Team, you'll get to work with a huge variety of other teams across geographies focused on Server to Cloud Migrations.

What you'll do

• Guide the technical direction of the front-end of our application, assisting the team in building their craft.
• Help break down the work, building and shipping new features and technical leader within your team.
• Workshops with Designers to ensure common language and UI approach across crafts.
• Review code with best practices of readability, testing patterns, documentation, reliability, security and performance considerations in mind.
• Demonstrate excellence in operational excellence, helping the team achieve reliability, scalability and latency goals. Build tooling for FE engineers to promote collaboration and remove barriers.
• Participating in Agile software development including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, team retrospectives, show and tell demo sessions.

What we are looking for

• 8+ years of experience designing and building production-level web applications.
• Experience with React and JavaScript and knowledge of UX and design.
• Experience building frontend applications considering modularity, reliability, security, performance, accessibility, and scale.
• Some industry experience with public cloud offerings (e.g., AWS, GAE, Azure). Ability to learn new programming languages, frameworks, and paradigms.
• Enjoy working collaboratively, sharing knowledge and helping other developers.
• Experience with modern testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, Cypress, Enzyme, or React Testing Library)
• Experience with front-end architecture and data-driven development
• Work with designers to develop dynamic user experiences.

On your first day, we'll expect you to have:

• Experience in engineering software systems of medium-to-large scope and complexity.
• Practical knowledge of Agile software development methodologies.
• Experience with continuous delivery.
• Mentor junior members.
