Senior BI Engineer III

JOB DESCRIPTIONDeep knowledge in Power BI. Knowledge on ETL design, Visualization, Synapse SQL, Cloudera, Azure, Snowflake etc is a plus) Understands and communicates scope to the stakeholdersDefine and document approach and design (code / testing / migration)Explain scope / approach / design to customer / internal team as neededDefine Project detailed tasksDefine templates / artifacts to be created for tasks (test results, test plan, design doc, requirements doc etc)Define task duration and dependenciesAssign tasks to rest of the team members and monitor progress & reportingMonitor quality - Review code and unit testing resultsAssists team members on tasks as needed. Independently able to do development and bug fixingTracking project timelinesLead in daily scrum calls with the internal team as well as customer REQUIREMENTSExperience and familiarity with MS BI Stack (Power BI, Azure Analysis Services, SQL Server, Azure)4+ years of experience in BI tools (OBIEE, tableau, qlikview etc.) with 2+ years’ experience in Power BI with in-depth development experience with recent versions of SQL Server.Develop automated reports and dashboards using Power BI.Gather and understand business requirements to set functional specifications for reporting applications.Connect to multiple datasets to bring all the relevant data together in one place and create reports that provide a consolidated view of the different sources.Hands on professional with thorough knowledge of scripting, data source integration and advanced GUI development in Power BI.Strong BI modelling skills using Analysis services with the ability translate reporting needs to a BI model which can serve the report as well as adhoc analytics. Work with both functional and technical project personnel, providing in-depth knowledge of BI information delivery/presentation methodology. Creating Power BI reports that represent different findings & insights from the data using interactive charts and maps.Experience creating calculated measures and columns with DAX in MS Power BI DesktopExpert knowledge using advanced calculations using MS Power BI Desktop (Aggregate, Date, Logical, String, Table)Capable of troubleshooting common database issues.Strong analytical skills and attention to detailAbility to work in a team/collaborative environment but to also work independently with the customerSolid communication and interpersonal skills is a must (client facing position). Strong ability to communicate clearly and professionally with end customers. Basic understanding of Microsoft Azure Cloud, Azure SQL database.Project management and organizational skills.Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.Good Academic track record preferred Have exposure of coming up with deployment architecture, installation, automation, and monitoring SSAS/Power BI Reporting server deployment or any other on-premises BI solutionExperience in data model design and ETL will be advantageousQUALIFICATIONS/SALARYDegree in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems or another quantitative fieldExcellent Communication skills5+ years of relevant experience.Negotiable salary.About Rackspace TechnologyWe are the multicloud solutions experts.
