CyberSecurity Engineer

Position Overview

As a Cybersecurity Engineer, you will have the opportunity to learn, grow, and contribute to our cybersecurity initiatives. Your primary responsibilities will include conducting vulnerability assessments, penetration tests, and assisting in the deployment of essential security solutions. You will also work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, DevOps, SRE, and Engineering, to integrate security measures into our organization's applications and systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with our experienced experts to conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration tests, identifying risks in networks, applications, and systems owned by the company
  • Assist in the implementation and management of security tools, including SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) and Vulnerability Management Solutions (e.g., Tenable, Rapid7)
  • Engage in automation projects using tools like Ansible to streamline security processes
  • Develop and maintain scripts in Python and Bash to support various security tasks
  • Investigate security incidents and conduct forensic analysis to determine root causes and implement corrective and preventative controls
  • Stay current with the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and vulnerabilities to identify potential risks and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies
  • Work closely with the InfoSec team to create, update, and ensure the effectiveness of policies and procedures
  • Participate in and facilitate third-party security assessments
  • Identify, design, and implement solutions such as firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems, encryption mechanisms, etc., to enhance the cybersecurity posture of the company
  • Promote a culture of cybersecurity within the organization, providing security guidance for technical and non-technical teams to identify and better understand security threats and effective countermeasures

Requirements

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, cybersecurity, or a related field OR equivalent professional experience
  • A solid understanding of vulnerability assessment and penetration testing principles
  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python and Bash
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in English is required.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Previous exposure to SIEM systems and Vulnerability Management Solutions
  • Experience with automation tools (Ansible)
  • A strong grasp of cybersecurity fundamentals and best practices
  • Security certifications are not mandatory but will be considered a significant advantage
