Participates proactively in developing and maintaining team standards, tools, and best practices. Identifies and removes impediments, prevents distractions. Facilitates discussion and conflict resolution. Empowers the team to self-organize. Careel Level Summary • Little instruction on daily work, general instruction on new assignments. Key Responsibilities • Organizes and facilitates project planning, daily stand-up meetings, reviews, retrospectives, sprint and release planning, demos, and other Scrum-related meetings. Tracks and communicates team velocity and sprint/release progress. Maintains process documentation. Ensures the development teams are practicing the core agile principles of collaboration, prioritization, team accountability, and visibility. Knowledge • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work with diverse personality types. Ability to understand technical issues at a high level. Thorough understanding of agile software development methodologies, values, and procedures. Thorough understanding of the software development lifecycle. Proven ability to work independently with limited supervision and with other department personnel. Must have exceptional communication, organization, and time management skills. Must be self-motivated, as well as creative and efficient in proposing solutions to complex, time-critical problems. Must be collaborative in driving decisions. Ability to deal with multiple projects and deadlines. Strong analytical and problem solving skills with a high attention to detail. Education • Requires Bachelor's degree, MBA or advanced degree preferred. High school diploma or equivalent required Experience • Must be a Certified Scrum Master with 5 years of project management experience and 1+ years of Scrum Master experience. Experience working as part of a Project Management Office is a plus Physical Demands • General office environment. Moderate levels of stress may occur at times. May require long periods sitting and viewing a computer monitor. No special physical demands required. Schedule flexibility to include working a weekend day regularly and holidays as required by the business for 24/7 operations. Occasional travel, less than 10%.
