The Network Architect is a key contributor to our consistent delivery of outstanding customer outcomes. He/she has experience leveraging our broad and comprehensive product. A dynamic and experienced architect with excellent problem solving and communication skills and a proven record of accomplishment. He/she has a background and experience in a client facing role with detailed awareness of private, utility cloud and hybrid managed hosting, and passionate about helping to define and provide effective client solutions.
Job Requirements
- Makes recommendations to management on desirable additions and developments.
- Remains informed of new developments and trends.
- Regular interaction with vendors for the purposes of investigating new equipment and services.
- Serves as a troubleshooter on complex network problems.
- Acts as a high level escalation point for customer.
- Performs moderately complex to complex engineering, design, implementation and maintenance tasks on the LAN and/or WAN.
- Research, evaluate, and approve hardware and software solutions for simple to moderately complex problems.
- Develop and review moderately complex to complex implementation plans for network/system upgrades
Skills & Qualifications
- Worked extensively with CISCO APIC (Application Policy Infrastructure Controller) deployment
- Strong knowledge of Software Defined Networks (SDN)
- Strong knowledge of building segregated networks for elevated security conscious customers
- Familiarity with network security products including firewalls and Load Balancers
- Familiarity with deploying network deployment and configuration through infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Strong knowledge of networking protocols, security principles, and hardware.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with network design and planning tools.
- Familiarity with cloud networking and virtualization technologies.
- Project management skills are often required.
- A bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field is typically required, although many Network Architects hold advanced degrees or certifications.
- Relevant certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Cisco Certified Design Professional (CCDP), or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) can be beneficial. Or CCIE (Cisco Certified Internetworking Expert and or CCDE (Cisco Certified Design Expert)
