Interviews and onboarding are conducted virtually, a part of being a distributed-first company.About the Role:Atlassian is in search for a summer intern for our SOX team. Under the direction of the SOX team, the Intern will work closely with business stakeholders and be responsible for performing various Sarbanes-Oxley 404 (SOX) testing. This responsibility may include assisting in performing internal testing procedures, and maintaining process narratives and risk and control matrices, as necessary.

In this role, you'll get to:

• Perform and document audit activities in accordance with professional standards and Atlassian’s Methodology;
• Gain insight into the business functions by getting a close understanding of how different departments do their jobs
• Work with a team of experienced auditors, gaining exposure to the various components of the SOX audit lifecycle
• Gain experience in deploying Atlassian products (Jira, Confluence, etc.) to execute the SOX program
• Assist the SOX team with other ad hoc tasks

On your first day, we’ll expect you to have:

• Ability to prioritize work, follow through on requests, take initiative and meet deadlines
• Strong interpersonal skills to interact in team environment and foster client relationships
• Comfort operating independently in a constantly evolving environment
• Self-Starter that takes the initiative to ask questions
• Ability to apply knowledge learned in classroom to work
• An owner mentality: You take pride in your work and view what you do as a part-owner and builder of Atlassian.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite applications
• Have an understanding of finance, accounting, auditing, financial systems, and technology. 
• Be able to commit to at least a 12 week full-time (40hrs/week). Program starting July 2023
• Having experience in an accounting system is nice to have
