Marketplace facilitates discovery, trial, and purchase experiences during customers' expanded journeys as they try to figure out the best solution for their needs. Our Marketplace enables partners with best-in-class tools to list apps and to manage and grow their business on Atlassian.The Atlassian Marketplace has been wildly successful: we surpassed $2 billion in lifetime revenue on the Atlassian Marketplace, with over 70% of Jira Software and Confluence customers using at least one Marketplace app. We’re moving towards the mission to enable Every team to extend Atlassian products to unleash more potential. We are at a very exciting place right now, exploring various possibilities of expanding our horizons to think beyond just Marketplace apps to be hosted on our platform.  About the RoleWe are looking for an Engineering Leader to lead our Marketplace engineering team. This leader will manage India-based teams and own the Partner Experience roadmap. If you’re interested in helping Atlassian reach 100M MAU, then helping our partners successfully run their business is the way to do it. You will bring a wealth of experience in managing teams and success in delivering highly technical multi-quarter roadmaps. You will also need to be fairly comfortable with ambiguity and possess tools to work through ambiguity, craft strategy and drive execution. You will be able to work with your team to define architectural/organizational future states that we can scale to in years 2 and 3. We’ll need to make balanced calls that align with our forward-looking vision and current business & technology critical asks.

Key attributes for candidates

• Experience (5+ years) leading engineering teams, with a clear understanding of the complexity of shipping state-of-the-art cloud services
• Extensive engineering management experience, following Agile development processes with a history of shipping consumer products and cloud services.
• Experience managing managers of managers and a track record of scaling organizations in excess of 100 engineers
• Experience building and nurturing cultures of delivery excellence, shipping high-quality products to customers, preferably to an ecosystem of partners.
• You will demonstrate defining and communicating a long-term technical vision and inspiring your team around a shared vision for success.
• You will have strong empathy and a bias for action.
• You will have experience working with and leading teams across geographies. While the org is based in India today, the role could expand to include teams in Australia.
• You will have the ability to build a deep understanding of both business and engineering metrics and drive a culture of reliability, security and productivity.
• You will champion developer productivity and empower engineers to invest in the right tooling at the right time.
