What You Will Be Doing

ChargePoint is looking for an Embedded Security Engineer who will build secure products, drive threat modelling and remediate vulnerabilities. You will architect, design, consult and implement new security paradigms for hardware and embedded systems in a rapidly evolving problem space.

This will be an amazing opportunity to define and build secure systems from the ground up from hardware to platform to cloud. The engineer will possess deep technical knowledge and ability and will be tasked with the most demanding projects and design requirements.

What You Will Bring to ChargePoint

• Design, implement and test for security in OTA, secure boot, and firmware components
• Building security and vulnerability management programs using open source or off the shelf security tools
• Genuine passion for building effective and pragmatic security tools to assess products and services
• Build and drive cryptographic operations across embedded and hardware systems
• Define and execute security related verification / validation tests

Requirements

• 5+ years of working in system security (from the hardware layer up)
• Experience in embedded software development (preferably C/C++)
• Deep understanding of security paradigms (secure boot, chain-of-trust, etc.) and related security threats, exploits and prevention
• Digital Signatures that support various content encodings (i.e. JWS, XML-DSIG, PKCS#7)
• Network Security Topologies and approaches (such as CANcrypt, MAC-sec, IP-Sec, Overlay like Tinc)
• Maintaining onboard secrets per device using KeyStores, FS Cryptography, Device Encryption
• Practical knowledge of applied cryptography and common attacks against modern cryptographic algorithms (such as encryption at rest, TLS, hashing, etc.)
• Ability to prioritize, reproduce, recommend remediation/s and implement fixes for vulnerabilities
• Passion for understanding and researching vulnerabilities and exploitation techniques
• BS/MS in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent (nice to have)
• Experience with industry cybersecurity standard like IEC 62433 (nice to have)
