It’s a practice that’s earned us industry accolades and helped contribute to our double-digit bottom-line growth.Role A technical editor with exceptional communication, writing, editing, and critical thinking skills provides editing support to the assurance and professional services teams. This position is focused on ensuring our clients receive clear and quality technical documentation.
Responsibilities
- Edit and finalize up to five technical client-facing reports per week, ensuring that issues are resolved and corporate style guidelines are applied.
- Deliver edited publications and reports on time in a fast-paced environment with many quick-turnaround projects.
- Edit blog posts, white papers, website content, marketing materials, and any other Trail of Bits written content as needed.
- Contribute to and maintain the Trail of Bits in-house style guide to inform writing and editing standards.
- Conduct writing workshops and coaching sessions with writers across the organization to improve technical writing skills.
- When an opportunity arises, improve technical editing workflow capabilities through strategy, analytics, and tracking.
- Coordinate weekly with project managers and other editors to align on deadlines and priorities.
- Regularly re-review internal technical editing team documentation (e.g., process documentation, the style guide, and the technical editing handbook) to maintain accuracy and relevance.
- Maintain quality and brand alignment across all platforms and content.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field preferred
- At least 3 years of technical copyediting experience
- Excellent editing skills with the ability to pass an editing test
- Content strategy experience is a plus
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple workstreams
- Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts
- Ability to communicate effectively with people across diverse project teams
- Understanding of security threats and application security is a plus
- Experience with G Suite tools required
- Must live in the United States or Canada
