phone.This position is responsible for end-to-end support of Linux server environments that includes installation, configuration, patching, deploying applications, monitoring, troubleshooting and maintenance of all Red Had Linux and Unix server
environments.As a Systems Administrator you are expected to apply thorough problem-solving techniques to identify the source of the problem and own the issues through to resolution, whilst keeping the customer up-to-date and reassured with updates over the phone and ticketing system. You will also give advice on best practices or potential pitfalls that you identify and suggest alternatives that may better serve the stability, security and performance of the customer’s solution. JOB REQUIREMENTS: <i>Key Accountabilities</i>* To provide the highest level of Technical support. * Work with leading-edge technology in the High-end Data Center, virtualized and cloud space. * Coordinate with customers, vendors and different teams to understand the requirement or problem and then provide a high level of professional and technical support accordingly.. * Install, configure, update and troubleshoot Linux server environments on a Bare metal or VM for customers or application team such as OS level concerns, OS networking problems, Performance related issues, on web server, database server, applications server, and mail server running on Linux OS.. * Create and maintain customer loyalty by serving customers above and beyond their expectations. * Support customers over the phone, email and via tickets. * Collaborate with fellow system administrators and support team members. * Provide Fanatical Support® in all interactions. <i>Key Performance Indicators </i>* Internal Quality Control Measurements (Tickets/Phone). * Customer rating on work done. * Ticket Reviews. PERSON SPECIFICATION: <i>Technical:</i>* BS in IT/Computer Science or equivalent. * General knowledge (Networking, hardware, Unix, Virtualization, Applications, DNS, DHCP). * Experience with Dell and HP Servers: Firmware upgrades, BIOS settings, Hardware RAID. * Excellent knowledge on RedHat Linux* Certification – RHCE level. * Knowledge – RHCA Level (RHCE + 6 Years’ experience on Core Linux). . * Strong hands on experience in maintaining Linux OS:* Install: Media installation, kickstart, network-installation, cloning, OS disk imaging. * Configure: Networking, Kernel, Limits, Performance tuning, File systems, Multipath, LVM. * System Services: SSH, SFTP and SFTP Jailing, Sendmail, BIND DNS, HTTP, NFS, CIFS, NTP, FTP. * Linux Boot process, Kernel Modules, Packaging, patching, OS Upgrades . . * Experience with virtualization (on any of the technology from below list):* VMWare: VM Administration, vMotion, SvMotion, Resource management, DRS, HA. * OVM / OLVM: VM Administration, Host or Repository migration, Compute resources. * OCI / Citrix / KVM / Xen Virtualization. . * Clustering knowledge on RH Cluster/Oracle RAC/ASM/VMWare or OVM host cluster environments. * Experience with scripting language – Bash, ksh, python. * Hands on experience with automation tool Like Ansible, AWX or Puppet.. * Understanding of Storage Area Network and related technologies – SAN Fabric, SAN Zoning, Multipath. * Server/VM migration over cross platforms - P2V and V2P on VMWare <-> OLVM <-> OCI. . * Data center migration knowledge would be a plus.. <i>Personal: </i>* Excellent verbal and written skills. * Creative and collaborative team player. * Must be able to multi-task – ability to handle Shift, that includes tickets queue/dashboard, HO, follow-up, emails, Phone/Bridge calls and multiple tickets with different priorities simultaneously. * Ability to communicate technical issues to nontechnical and technical audiences. * Ownership and follow-up skills. * The ability to respond effectively under pressure.
