Job Summary: As our Cyber Security Engineer III you’ll work directly with our customers developing, improving, modifing, and assessing security architecture within a hosting- based environment. Work Location: Our new state of the art Castle located in San Antonio, TX. You'll have the opportunity work a hybrid model with two days in the office and three days remotely.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct technology and system assessments, provides technical consultation, and ensures system security functionality.
- Respond to all system security weak points and partners with other teams and third- party vendors to resolve security issues.
- Analyze security systems and seek improvements on a continuous basis.
- Report possible threats or software issues.
- Research weaknesses and find ways to counter them.
- Find cost-effective solutions to cybersecurity problems.
- Understand software, hardware and internet needs while adjusting them according to our business environment.
- Develop best practices and security standards for the organization.
- Test company software, firmware, and firewalls.
- Identify solutions to enhance or create new business opportunities, integrating multiple technologies at times.
- Provide technical and systems consultation and actively works with internal clients and technical management to eliminate risk exposures.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
- Must have a cyber security related certification for example... CISSP, GSEC, CEH or CISM.
- Must have experience with private cloud.
- Knowledge and experience with ethical hacking, firewall and intrusion detection/prevention technologies, secure coding practices and threat modeling.
- Ability to conduct firewall reviews and report findings.
- Advance knowledge and experience of virtualization technologies, Windows and Unix/Linux operating systems.
- Advance knowledge and experience of network and server hardware infrastructures and storage technologies (NAS, SAN).
- Experience with secure network architectures, identity and access management principles, application security, encryption technologies, DNS, SOA, database and web applications.
- Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to articulate complex scenarios with clear solutions.
- Ability to make appropriate decisions considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions.
